Snjs the Chronicle : -The present in. fluenza epidemic in Wanganui is fur more severe* than any we have experienced before. Already it is reported 2000 oases have been treited. Influenza is very bad throughout New South Wales. A peculiar case occurred at Windsor, where a man had a relapse, and was given up for death. After being washed, and the performance of the other rites for the dead, lie recovered from a stupor, and is now on the way to recovery The Influenza Scourge is raping on the West Coast just now. At "Wanganui the^ epidemic has prostrated large numbers. At Waycrley, >carcely a household has escaped ; the greater number having been prostrated within the past week. At Patea its victims are also" exceedingly numerous. la one house no less than six of the occupants at tlio present time are uuablc to leave tlieir beds from its effects. ! It lias its victims, too, at Hawera and elsewhere along the coast. In the majority of cases if the party affected lakes care at the outset, and lays by, beyond the complete prostration for the time being, and inconvenience, they appear to soon make a complete recovery.
