The monthly meeting of 'the. Edu cation Board commenced on- Monday last. Eeilding.— Mr Fry reported that he had authorised the re-covering of the roof of the teacher's residence at a cost of £14. * -, .'Makino Uoad. — Iti was resolved to give the teacher of this school three months' notice of the termination of His engagement at Makino Hoad, and to inform him that he might apply for a smaller school. Kimbblton Koad.— The Committee having"written suggesting an increase in the size of the proposed building, it was resolved to increase its capacity ' from 40 to 50 scholars. "Day of- Board Meeting. — It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Sanson, that the next meeting of the Board should be held on Monday, November 23rd, instead of on the usual day. Midland Eoad. — Mr Fry was autho- •- rised to lease a cottage for a residence "fora term of three years. Mt was 'resolved that this school should be renamed Aratiki, from the Ist of, January. Apiti and Pemberton. — It was resolved that the architect should be asked to again invite tenders for tho erection of schools at Apiti and Pemberton. Mangaone. — It was resolved that the architect be instructed to call for tenders for an infants' room to accommodate 40 scholars. Beaconßfield. — The Board decided to 'appoint Jane Birmingham provided all certificates were forthcoming.
