Death of "Manny" McKenzie
Everyone of the early settlers in this district will regret to learn the death of Mr Donald McKenzie, well-known as " Manny;" It appears that Mr McKenzie was engaged in biishfelling on his farm ou the Pobangiiia, when a hmb fi-ora a dead tree fell and struck him on the head aud chest. He expired within two hours after receiving the injuries. The body was conveyed to Palmerston North, where s\n inquest was held by Mr !>>uoU>om, the LH&tnet Ooiouer, and a verdict returned, of accidental death. The funeral took . place yesterday, and the cortege &3 it passed Awuhuri on the way to the cemetery near Bull.i, joined by a large number of mourners from Keildingi unn t.he SiwiWa districts, where the decois -A wia well known and liked.
