(PJJR PRESS ASSOCIATION,) Pateja, This Day. Mr Hutchison addressed a large meet- \ ing of electors last night and fully explained his action last session. He adversely criticised the Land and Income Tax and payment of members, but had yet hopes that better counsels would pre vail next session. With respect to the former measure he condemned the Land Bill on account of the deletion of freehold tenure. He held the Government far from blameless in ths Bryce incident. He pould not h.e considered a general supporter of the present Government, but declined to say he would support the present Opposition. Wellington, This Day. The Government do not propose to interfere with the Cbrjstchurch election, having received a legal opinion that the election must go on leaving any aggressive candidate to take such, ulterior steps as he sees fit.
