An Aberdonian Story
A respectable looking man came into my shop and asked " Pat's the price o' yer fuskey the gallon ?" It was long before the duty was advanced, so I said "I have some very good nt fen shillings." He said " Can ye let me see a sample o't?" I put about a wineghssful in a tumbler, thinking he might want some water to it. He looked at it in the glass, smelt it, and drank about the half of it. " Aye," he said, " that's veery g od ! H. e ye naething a wee bittie stronger ? " I said I could let him hare some unreduced at twelve shillings. He asked for a sample of it. I gave him a similar qunnt« lty in another tumbler. He drank the half of it and Jiked it better, then said:* " I think they would mak' a good fusky if they were mixed!" He then poured the contents of one tumbler info the other and drank the lot, saving : " That's great improvement; I'll ca' in and see ye some other day."— Exchange.
