Tuesday, September 14.Clause B— Proceedings at meetings. — On the motion of Mr Palmer, an addition was made to the clause to the effeefr that ; any candidate may be allowed to withi draw from nomination before the ballot-' is taken, either verbally or in writing, A new clause was substituted- for Clause 9, to- the effect that any householder present at an annual meeting may nominate for election on the committee. any resident householder, and a resident householder nominated at a meeting shall) be a candidate for election. The meetingshall then, by a resolution, fix a number* of the committee, which must not boless than five or more than nine. The BUI was ordered to be reported^ with the amendments. The House went into Committee on the Municipal Corporation Act Amendment Bill. After a debate the Minister's motion was agreed to. The House rose at 1.30 a.m.
