Tallow — Medium mutton, 275; beef, i 25s 3d. i The English wheat market has a down- ' ward tendency ; the ContinentAl is de- * dining, and the American is changing a little for the worse. Sydney, September 6. New Zealand potatoes are quiet at £1 15s. Butter, dairy made, Is 4d ; factory, Is 6d. September 7. The English harvest is improving, and tbe wheat yield is favorable. Wool r< • turns are also satisfactory. Early hops are inferior in quality, and will probably not realise mote than £& to £5 12s per owt. Favourable reports are received of crops on the continent.
The New Zea'and Inan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 4th September : — Wool — The Antwerp sales are lower, and closed on the 4th at an average decline of fully 5 per cent on close of last sales. Tallow is dull of sale. Pine mutton is worth 27s 9d, good beef i 8 worth 25s 9d. i Frozen meat — Market unohanged. New : | Zealand hemp continues dull of BaJe> mairket has a downward tendency. :
