Mangaone Bachelors' Ball
I . «r fOUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.] The aboye ball, which eventuated in the Public Hall on Wednesday night last, was certainly the best and most brilliant affair of its kind that has yet taken place within the district. The Ball was tastefully decorated with ferns, nikau palms, etc. Quite sixty couples graced the floor. : The music was supplied by Mr E. F. Haybittle'B string band, and the members of it well sustained their reputation as the proyiders of really first-class music. Mr Bilderbeck, of Feildmg, acted as M.G., and performed his duties very efficiently. The catering was done by Mr Power, in a manner which showed that gentleman's thorough knowledge of the business. During the evening the company were favored with songs from Miss Stewart, and Messrs Morgan, Donnelly, Keen, and Murphy ; also a comic speech from Mr J. Browue; in each instance they were warmly applauded. The bachelors all deserve to be congratulated, but especial praise is due to the members of the committee (Messrs E. Shortall, J. Murphy, D. Knight, D. Entwisle and J. Morgan) for the success of the affair.
