LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Thursday, August 27. The Speaker having left the chair the Land and Income Assessment Bill was committed. The Hon the Attorney General stated tbat tbe estimated revenue was some £359,000 odd, and this was to take -the place of the property tax. The Bill was reported without amendments,, read a third time and passed. After a short discussion the Colonial Secretary moyed that the committal of tbe Factories and Shop Hours Bills be discharged from the Order Paper and made an order of the day for Friday. — Agreed to.
