Feilding Fire Brigade

A one man competition for a medal presented by Lieutenant Shearer, will be* | competed for by members of the Feilding Fire Brigade- under the following conditions : — Run 20, yards to engine, jump upon engine, and take out 50ft length of hose and branch, unscrew delivery caps,. ' fix hose, lay hose and branch on ground,', throw out levers , on near side of engine^ lock carnage, throw out leyers on oft sideengine, unscrew suction cap, fix one> length of suction hose, run out with thedelivery hose (already, fixed to engine),, fix branch, 1 return to engine, unlock levers and strike buffers, time to betaken . from blow of whistle to strike of, buffers. . Fines will count as foUowsi,— For aierscrew not hand tight, 1 sec ; for any lever compling not tight, 1 sec ; for carriage* pin not home, 1 sec ; any lid not closed, 1 sec; for twisted hose (one half turn does not count as twisted), 1 turn, 1 sec, 2 turns 1£ sec, 3 or more turns 5 sec. Medal tc be won twice in succession, or 3 times at- intervals. The first 3 competitions will taker place at intervals of not- less than one month. The date of first competition will be the third ' Saturday! (19th).September. We haye seen, the* medal, which is now bn yiew at Mr. Carthew's, and it ia a very handsome one. '
