John Aitken Connell, aged 51, was found dead from a gunshot wonnd this morning, in a room at Deacon's Hotel, Itiyerhead- Connell opposed Mr Mit* chelson nt the election before Just, when he described hi'Uself as the " Tactician-." A year ago he delivered lectures in Wellington on the labour difficulty. A strange coincidence is that of Mr Mit* chelson's opponents at the two last elections, both men have met with violent deaths recently Pamcerstok Nohth, August 21, Yf. H. Pasooe, brewer, was fined JESO an two charges of fraudulently neglecting to enter two brews alleged to have been made, and £1 on each of five charges for neglecting to enter beer sold from day to day.
