Correspondence

THE LATE ACCIDENT. TO THE EDITOR OF THK STAR. Sib,— Please allow me space in your widely circulated paper to state facts which will exonerate the footballers of Feilding and Awahuri of the stigma the Coroner tried to saddle them with at the inquest in connection with the late Awahuri accident. First, The Feilding team were at Bulls when the accident occurred, and did not pass Awahuri till 9 o'clock, or 2 hours after it happened. Second, The Awahuri team were at Marton and did not arrive home till after we passed, and now, sir, you will see the death of Mr Hooban was not caused by the footballers. — I am, &c, B. H., Whisker, Capt. F.F.C.
