[OTJB OWN COKBESPONDENT.I The heavy rains we have had lately made the unmetalled roads very sloppy, and worse now than they have been all ' through the- winter. There was a large body of earth slipped on the Valley road, in the Harbor Board Block, stopping traffic. One person attempted to drive over the obstruction, but his horse got bogged in the middle, so it had to be unharnessed and led into safety, while the trap was carried oyer by some neighboring hands.-' I am sorry to say that the cold weather Las killed a good many lambs. - There seems to be something amiss among the sheep which ought tb receive the serious attention of farmers, - because I hear everyone of them has suffered to a .greater- or lesser extent. ,A strong and apparently healtby sheep will suddenly die without leaving any evidences of having kicked or struggled. A sheep may be noticed lying down, you'may rouse it up «nd it will walk" away. Next day you may notice the same sheep in the same position, when a little more difficulty will be found in starting it up, and on a third occasion you-will find the beast lying still in' the arms of death.
