TIMBER ANNEXATION.
TO THK EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir,— When travelling up and down the river lately I noticed that some person or persons are splitting a vast deal of totara on the Pohangina river bed, on the west side opposite the township sections. Now, sir, as that said township-land is to be sold shortly, the Pohangina township I am alluding to, I consider it will interfere with the sale of that land. I certainly think it is not right for persons to be allowed to take timber off the beach abutting this land, which is to be in the market shortly. As many persons, who have travelled that way, know that if that timber is used now, there will not be any timber around for some distance for the selectors to fence their sections in. Unless these persons have had permission to remove such timber I feel sure that the head-quarters will interfere with them. — I am, &c, Traveller.
