ITKB. UNITED PBEBS ASSOCIATION. J MeLBOUBNE, July 11. Tremeudous rains have fallen throughout the colony and considerable damage is reported. The water rose rapidly at Toorak and South Tarra, and in some instances families had to be rescued from their houses in boats. Over one hundred and fifty families have been rendered homeless at .Richmond, and three hundred and sixty persons were driven from their residences at Toorak. The Flem ington Eacecourse is under water, and an extensive portion of the Adelaide railway line has been washed away. McOulloch's foundry in the city was undermined by flood water, and the building collapsed ; the damage is estimated at £5,000. Pour and a half inches of rain fell in the city on Saturday morning.
