Folding Fire Brigade

An adjourned meeting of the Fire Brigade was held last night in Captain Bray's office, at which a good number of mem- ' bers attended. Lieutenant Worsfoldtook * the chair The following were elected new members of the Brigade: — Messrs M. Belfit, A. Eade, A. Newman, and Shalders (2). The yearly ballot for officers was taken, which resulted as follows t —Captain— J. C. Morey; Lieutenant — W. G. Shearer; Foreman— C. Nicholson; Secretary— W. A. Collins; Treasurer—S. J. Thompson. A committee was formed to make arrangements for a " : competition and (foncert to raise funds to meet the instalment coming due on the engine. Dr Sorley was elected Hon. Surgeon to the Brigade. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Fireman S. J. Thompson for a . donation of one guinea given by him in recognition of the services of the Brigade when his chimney was on fire yesterday. At the conclusion of the meeting a hearty vote of thanks was accordad to Oapfcaia Bray for the kindness in offering the use of his office for holding meetings, etc.
