Annual Licensing Meeting

The annual meeting of the licensing committee for the borough -of Feilding was held at noon to-day. Present — Messrs Sherwill (chairman), Goodbehere, Haybittle, Kirton and Rutherford. An application was received from Robert Halley for a new license. Mr Hawkins appeared for the applicant, and addressed the Bench at some length. _The plans of the building were explained by Mr James, the architect. Constable Tuohey opposed the application. As no application or -plans, were before the committee for granting a license to the building at present standing, known as the Shamrock Boarding House, and as the committee had no power to grant a license for a house that is not in existence, the application was refused. .The applications of Wm. Light, Denbigh Hotel, Mrs M. Hastie, for the Feeding Hotel, and Mrs Oliver'for'the Empire Hotel, for renewals* were granted. - Mr Sandila'nds appeared for Mr Light Mrs Oliyer and Mrs Hastie.
