There is an unwritten law that where people should not go, there do they rush" in crowds. Tins was observed to the fullest ' extent at the football match on Saturday. It has long been understood that during the progress of the Feilding sports any game of football, the public should keep outside of the fence surrounding the Oval, in drder that while they could see the game to the best advantage themselves, they would . not hinder the view of any body else. On Saturday it was almost impossible, owing to the crowd within the Oval, for those spectators, ladies and gentlemen, who had the good taste to remain outside, to see the 'game at all. The players were also interfered with by the crush, which was contrary to all rule. The only way to remedy this evil is for the Beferee to stop the game until the Oval is clear of all intruders. This has been done before and it acted like a charm.
