Smith, First Lord of the Treasury, announced his intention of introducing a Bill suspending British sealers from carrying out their calling in the Behring Sea for a term of one year. A compromise has been arrived at between Mr Smith and the Newfoundland delegates respecting the modus vivendi, and the Imperial Bill will not be withdrawn if the measure being discussed by the Newfoundland Parliament is found to be satisfactory. As was expected the' tailors who went out on strike have resumed work. •
