In oats and wheat there is a tendency toward speculation, owing to the Government statistics just -published showing a deficiency in the New' Zealand wheat crop of over 3 million bushels, and a shortage on the oat yield of 2 million bushels, as compared with last year's returns* Potatoes are still very plentiful, and values are low. Salt butter has slight enquiry from Australia for prime sepa-ator.
