Amongst the passengers in transit for Sydney are Madame Sarah Bernhardt, the celebrated actress, and her dramatic company of about forty members. In the course of an- interview Sarah Bernhardt said it was improbable she would play in New Zealand. - Wanganui, May 22. •The fishing boat Palmerston, with crew, Messrs Gunn and Bushbridge, is missing since yesterday. Fears" are entertained as to its 'safety. Wellington, This Day. - The Public Trust Commission report they will not be ready for some weeks as they are waiting for returns which cannot be provided tinder a fortnight at least. The Commissioners are much disappointed at not getting the extension of time asked for, and have forwarded a remonstrance to the Government. • It is said the cost of the Commission will be £3000 or £4000. '
