Feilding School Committee
A meeting of the Feilding School Com-, mittee was held last night.. Present — Messrs Lethbridge (chairman), Worsfold (secretary), Morey, Gould, Curran, and Shearer. The following correspondence was read : — Report from head-teacher, stating the number of scholars on roll was 357 with an average attendance of 262. Also, asking for sundry repairs. From the late head -teacher. From Mr J: H. Stevens, stating- that Messrs Curran, Ranger, Arnott, Kitchen, Smith, and J. H. Sfceyens would each give a load of firewood to the school. Resolved, That a vote of thanks be accorded those gentlemen for their yery - acceptable donation. Resolyed, That the Chairman acknowledge the receipt of letters from Mr Wilks., -.* and inform him that they cannot take any action in the matter complained of by him. , Resolved, That the head-teacher- ho requested to furnish the committee with,-., a hst of irregular attendants, aiid thafc it "' be placed in the hands of the ' Truant Inspector. Resolved, That the Chairman apply to the Board for a porch and sundry necessaries for the school. Resolved, That the head-teacher u"sV~ his own discretion re school hours on wet days. Resolved, That Messrs Shearer and Gould be a visiting committee for the ensuing month ; that tenders be called for cleaning, to be in next month ; that the Chairman and Treasurer sigr- cheques. Accounts amounting to ;?14 10s 4cl were passed for payment and the meet-, ing adjourned.
