The Dobson-Kennedy Company
This talented company appeared in the Assembly Boom's last night in " Little Lord Fauntleroy." • and played to a crowded house. The piece was in every way charming and was probably the best and most affecting ever produced in Feildiug. Miss Baby Kennedy, as Little Lord Plauntleroy, was a brilliant success and played her part as though " to the manor born," as a little nobleman. Mr Dobson as the Earl Dolingcourt, was yery pood, and represented the character of a self-indulged and haughty old aristocrat to the. life. Mr Kennedy, as Mr Hobbs, was immense, and his rendering of the character of this eccontric American created frequent roars of laughter and applause. Mr Cowan, as Dick" the bootblack, made the most of his part, while Mr Frank Norton, as Mr Haversham, the English family-lawyer, made all bis points. The part of Mrs Errol was well sustained by Miss Idrene Thornton, and Miss Lily Hill in the character of an adventuress, played her part to the life. The Dobson-Kennedy Company are undoubtedly clever, and by their good and tasteful acting have established an excellent reputation in every part of the colony. To-night they will play " Neck or Nothing," and the performance will be concluded with " O'Callaghan on his last legs," in which Mr Kennedy plays one of his favcr.te cha acters.
