♦-_ By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright JPER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. [ Sydney, April 23 H.M.S. Orlando called at Norfolk Island on her way from Auckland for the purpose of bringing Bishop Selwyn on to Sydney, but the reverend gentleman was too ill to leave the Island. The Commissioners who held an inquiry into the Middle Head disaster (when the gun cotton mine exploded, killing four men) have submitted their report to Government. They find that Lieutenant Hammond, who was in charge of the launch, and Corporal McKee, both of whom were killed, were alone to blame for the explosion. Melbotjenk, April 23. Cornelius Harrington, who kicked his wife to death at Walhalla. has been sentenced to 16 years' penal servitude.
