HOTEL ACCOMMODATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE _ S.T:A.K. Sir,— "vyill you kindly allow me to re-, mind the writer of that paragraph in ay corner af your Saturday's issue,, that if more hotel accommodation is necessary it must be the fault of the retiring commit-., tee, whose duty it : was to. see it provided by the present holders of licenses. Doubtless the intention of the Act is that ample accommodation should be provided "and ,not the sale of intoxicants the primary object. If the rumour currently reported: in the town be correct, the retiring" moderate" committee \yho.Beek re-election ar© in favor of granting one, two or threeuiore licenses, for the town. [And (xlas- < gow House is spoken of as a good sightright opposite the State School.] It is t» be hoped for the sake of all concerned . that when the burgesses, find theniB jWes one .by one at the ballot-box; to-morrow (Wednesday) they, will allow their, conscientious convictions to guide them in doing the right thing regardless of Second- ■ ary or selfish considerations.— l am, &c, No More, at Present,.. Thanks. [The moderate committee have? hot said they are in favor of. granting " one, two; or three" licenses^— Ed". F.S.] '/'• .
