SHOCKING MURDER AT HOBART.

Hobabt, This Day. A horrible murder is reported from Sandy Bay. A man named Quamley in a tit of jealousy cut off the head of a widow named Davidson, with a carving knife and then inflicted serious wounds on himself, which it is believed will prove fatal. The murder is surrounded with peculiar circumstances. Adelaide, This Day. The police have made a raid on several tobacconist's shops in town where suspected gambling was carried, on and arrested 35 persons. Sydney, April 13. A rich development of carbonate ore has been found in the South Broken Hill mine. Brisbane, April 13 Floods at Cairns have drowned over five hundred cattle and two hundred horses.
