Sydney, April B. At a meeting of the Federal Council, the Judiciary Committee resolved that the judicial power of the Federation shall be vested in one Supreme Court^ and in such inferior courts as the Federal Par liament^rnay from time to time .create and establish. -■ The judicial power of the Federation shall extend, (a) To all cases In law and equity arising under this Act. (b) To fll cases arising under any laws made by the Federal Parliament, or under any treaty made by the Federation with, any other country, (c) To all cases of admiralty and maritime jurisdiction, (d) To /all cases affecting the public Ministers or other .accredited reprebentatives of . other coiaßJtes and 'consuls, (c)' To all cases iv whicn" the Federation shall be a party, (i) To disputes or controversies relating to land .or other property claimed under the laws pf different provinces, or any .right, franchise, or privilege, so cla med : tut nothing herein before contained shall "be construed to extend the judicial power of the Federation to any suit in law or -eqtttty-eeuunenced or prosecuted against any province, by any person whatsoever. With regard to the High Court of Appeal the- Committee agieed that in all ■cases arising under. Federal and Colonial Statutes the decision of the Federal Court stall be final. In r all other cases there shall' tie ah optional course, the appellant choosing either the Federal Court or the Privy Council of England, but if he accepts the Appellant Court of the Colony its decision shall be final. A proposal to pay Iciie-jChief Justice £4500 per annum, two "senior ' puisne Judges at the rate' of £4000, and two junior Judges £3500 each per annum Was struck out of the report after a warm debate. - There is every probability that the Convention will close to-night "or tomorrow. " ' ' '
