Startling Disclosure

. PSK CNITKD PRESS ASSOCIATION..! Inviirgahgill, March 25 A sensational affair is reported from Winton. It is alleged that a woman resident there has been noticed to leave on several occasions, generally returning with a baby. The other day a child in her keeping died, and as it had not been attended by a doctor, the police made inquiries, and on visiting her house found thirteen children in it. An inquest on the dead infant is being held to-day, but there being no telegraphic communication with Winton, the nature of the eyidence and result, if any, is unknown here. This Day. At the inquest at Winton yesterday re the death of an infaut in the house of Mrs Deane, evidence was taken to the effect that the infant, six weeks old, was brought from Caversham on the 9th. It then had a cold, and gradually got worse. Medicine was administered, but it died in the house. She had eleven children, from 6 weeks up to 2£ years, and two at 11 and 15 years old, with herself and husband. They occupied a house 12 xl 4 feet, with a lean-to. The medical evidence showed the death was naturally caused, and a verdict was given accordingly, with a rider that the premises were entirely inadequate for the purpose for which it was used. The coroner was then asked to lay the suggestions before the proper authority.
