New South Wales is inviting holders of £1,982,000 worth of 5 per cent debentures, which fall due in July and January next, to convert them into an equal amount of 3£ per cents pari passu ; the existing March and September debentures to be surrendered before the Ist June, interest to be payable till the date of maturity. Buenos Aybes, March 19. The Government of the Argentine Republic has admitted its inability to remit the interest now due on two of its loans. Received March 21, 11 a.m. London, March 20. Arrived — Aleione, Star of England, and Morayshire, from New Zealand. At a conference of the Miners' Federation it was resolyed to prosecute the Eight Hours Bill apart from the Labour Commission. Lord Knutsford has introduced a Bill to enable the Imperial Government to secure a modus vivendi with regard to the New Poundland fisheries dispute, notwithstanding the refusal of the local Government to consent to arbitration, or to give legal effect to the award of the arbitrators.
