Lowiher, addressing a meeting at Cambridge, declared Freeirade a mistaken idea, as it throttles industries, nnd he believed it would drive tlie Colonies to atoms. Judgment in the Ah Toy appeal will be given on Wednesday. It is believed the Court will rule that the Colony has power to exclude aliens. Calcutta, March 16. Upwards of two hundred thousand Hindoos took part iv a grand religious service in this city. Advantage was taken of the oppor tunity to protest against the alteration in the age of consent. The proceedings caused great excitement in the city. Washington, March 17. Most of the patients who escaped from the lunatic asylum at Nashville w-ien the building caught fire, have been recaptured. An epidemic of infiupsa is spreading in Chicago, and fully 50,000 of the re* sidents are affected by it. It is estimated I that one tenth of the Chicago populace is also affected.
