By Electric - Telegraph. — Copyright JPER UNITED' PBBSS ABSOCI ATION .[ Sydney; ' March 5. Sir George Grey was to-day presented with a very flattering address by the Single Tax League. In reply, Sir George stated that be belieyed that at the next session of Parliament; the New Zealand Government would introduce a land and income tax. The Colony, he said, had a system which he thought no other part of the British Empire possessed, viz,, one man, one vote, which he himself had been successful in carrying. March 6. At the Postal Conference to-day, the Hon. Mr Ward stated that his Government contemplated next session establishing a penny postage within New Zealand, which meant a reduction in the revenue of per annum. He favoured the reduction in the intercolonial postage, but pointed out that they must make the reform by degrees. This Day. . In taxing a bill of costs, incurred in passing the Oakey Park Railway Bill through Parliament, evidence was given' which showed that a member of Parliament had been paid for political services. Melbotjbne, March 6. Another donation of £200 has been forwarded to the Denniston miners. Adelaide, March 6. Sir T. Elder has returned to the Colony, having been reluctantly compelled to come to the conclusion that it was impossible to carry out an Antarctic expedition at present.
