«. — — A meeting of the Committee Of th teildnig Jockey Club- was held on Thuvt tight, at Mrs Hastie's Hotel. ; It was decided that the Working! Com luittee should have power to erect a; total isator house and race, in time for th Easter race meeting. " An application made by Mr E. Siither land, owner of the horse Songster whiel ran second in the Hurdle Race on tin 27th December, for payment to him of tin first money on the ground that the hors< Wairua, who had won the race, had beer wrongly described as a 4-year-old, h< being 5 years. The Secretary was di rected to communicate with Mr T. Scott owner of Wairua, upon the matter.
