Information has been received that a portion of the material of the first section of the Portuguese expedition from Mozambique to Mauicalaud has been severely damaged by storms. Received February 26, 11 a.m. London, February 25 H.M.S. Lizard has been recommissioned for the service of the Australian station. The Admiralty, in order to facilitate the commissioning of the Australian cruisers, have suspended the regulation with regard to five years service, but it only has effect to the Australian station. Ottawa, February 25. The Hon. C. H. Tiipper, Minister ol Marine, accuses Sir Robert Cartwright and the Hons. Wilfred Farrier and Wimann, members of the Dominion Parliament, Mr Robert R. Hilt, Chamber of the Foreign Relations Committee of the United States House of Representatives, and other members of the American Congress, of plotting for the annexation of Canada and the United States.
