Feilding School Committee

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above committee was held at the school house last night Present— Messrs H. AVorsfold (in the chair),' Onrtis, Hicks and Morey.' The minutes of the previous ordinary and of a special meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence, was read From Education Board, inviting nomination of members to fill three vacancies on the Board. From Head Teacher, re repairs and additions to schoolmaster's residence. From Head Teacher, enclosing list of irregular attendants at school. From Miss Ro'ache, stating she had sent her resignation to the Board as assistant mistress. Proposed by Mr Morey, seconded by Mr Curtis, That Mr F. Y. Lethbridge be nominated, for a seat on the Wanganui Education Board. — Carried. Eesolved, That the Chairman again write the Board, asking that body to make the necessary repairs to the school-mast-er^s residence. ", ,- Proposed by Mr Morey, seconded by Mr Hicks, That a list of the worst cases of irregular attendants be placed in the .hands of the Truant Inspector, the list to be prepared by the the Secretary and Head Teacher.-^arried. Proposed by Mr Worsfold, seconded by Mr Curtis, That this committee regrets that Miss Eoache should have sent her resignation to the Board.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Hicks, seconded by Mr Morey, That the chairman consult with the Head Teacher with a view to getting up an entertainment for raising funds to provide school prizes.— Carried. The Committee then adjourned.
