TO THE EDITOH OF THE STAR. Sir, —The rainfall registered for the 24 hours- ending 9.30 this morning was 3£ inches, being the greatest fall during any 24 hours since I commenced my register in July 1882, and far exceeding any fall during the month of February since the 22nd of that month in 1883, when I registered 3.06 inches, and in which year the total rainfall for February reached the unprecedented amount of 9.35 inches, exceeding by upwards of 6 inches any previous or subsequent fall dnr ng the usually dry month of February.
