Messrs Freeman R. Jackson' and Co's London agents's last repoit contains the following items : — Frozen meat — The continued large importation of Dutch and German killed sheep has kept down the price of New ' Zealand mutton, and it is with 'difficulty; that 4d 4d is obtained for best Canteifcury mutton. Frozen beef 'realises 4d to 4|d for hindquarters and 3fd for forequarters. New Zealand Hemp— -The quality offered has been fully equal to the requirements. We quote — Superior soft bright, '£26 to £27; good quality •well cleaned, £24 to £25 ; fair to good, £23 to £24; common coarse •and strawy, £18 to £20 per ton. Tallow — Since our- last there have 'been three public sales in which 2691 casks -have been offered, and 1567 sold. J Prices have improved 6d to Is. 'Quotations are — Fine mutton, 27s to 27s 3d^ fair to good, 26s 3d to 26s -9d ; beef, 265 ; faia to good, 25s to 25s 9d, Present stock in first 4s about 4000 «asbs.
