Manchester Road Board

— , ♦„_ » ■ > „ The ordinary monthly meeting of the "above Board was held last Saturday •afternoon. Present — Messrs Wheeler, % Downes, Pearce and Purkiss. In the' absence of Mr Lethbridge, the Chairman, Mr Wheeler presided. The minutes of : the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From C. and J. Parsons, stating their v "willingness to give roadway as per Board's term's. ' Erom H. Behrendf, asking leave to take metal fvota Ma-kino road pit for the purpose of metalling McCrea's road. From T. Rowling, asking Board to " complete metalling eastern end of Reid's line. -" From Town Clerk, Feilding, v with copy of resolution passed at the last meeting of Council, . that the Council would beir a fourth part of interest on loan for building bridge over Oroua.v" r - From Clias. Proposed by Mr Downes, -seconded by Mr Purkiss, That-this Board is willing to share cost of making road passable to Mr' •Gardner's property^with the Fitzherbert I , Hoad Board — Carried. Proposed by Mr'Pearce, seconded by Mr Downes, That the Engineer be instructed to call tor tenders for forming 1 and metalling' about six' chains on Forlong's road, also* for removing slips on the same road ; tenders to close on February - 21st, and the "Chairman and Engineer to open and deal_with the same. — C u-ried.. Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconded by "Mr'Downes, Tenders be called for supply of metal on Wilson's line, and also on 'that' portion of the Makino road' between' it and Stanway.— Carried.
