Good combing greasy merino brought up to 10|d;; do washed fleeces,ls 2d to Is 4d; greasy crossbreds,Bd to 9sd;' scoured crossbreds, lOJd to Is QJd. Sydney, February (3. At; the wool sales there was; ; yigprous competition, with good market, and prices were- decidedly firm. Good greasy sorts sold at 9id per lb ; good washed fetched to Is, and good average scoured to Is 3d. Inversargill, February 4. The second series of wool sales was largely attended. About 1500 bales were submitted, with spirited competition up to noon, prices ranging from 8d to 10Jd for crossbred, and as high as ll|d for half-bred. The demand for merinos was more active than at last sales.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limite i, have received the following cable message from their London office, dale 1 3rd inst. ; — Wool — The j-a'es progress firmly. Superior greaVy merino has advanced since close of last sale nearly fd per Tb, while fine greasy and course scoured crossbred have advanced |d p;r lb, ond fine scoured crossbred £d to Id, Other descriptions are unchanged. Up to date 77,000 bales have been sold.
