A Terrible" Storm

(i'kh imriKT) pi.'kss apsccmation ) Invercargill, February 4. A' terrific hailstorm was experienced in Riverton yesterday preceded by a tremendous thunderstorm lasting till after noon. A storm of stones, some as large as hen's eggs, fell. This; lasted for ten minutes. Not a single skylight or conservatory escaped, nearly every pane of glass being- completely riddled. Fruit and vegetables suffered severely. A schoolboy named Miller was blinded' for a time by lightning and sent home. The electrical disturbance in other parts of the dis : trict was not severe and the hailstorm was confined to Riverton. •
