The London correspondent of the New Zealand Herald writing on December 12th, says :— " Mr W, T. • Holmes,' who has been appointed 'Grerieral Manager of the Bank of New -Zealand iv . the colonies, will leave -England to take up his appointment ;b r y the ["s.s-Oiizaba. on^ January 2nd. •It .must be a matter of congratulation : for the shareholders of the Bank aud •all , others .-concerned in its welfare, that the Directors have been able: to { secure_the .-ervices of a gentleman so 'eminently qualified to deal- with the -important and varied; (interests that %ill ü be committed' to his charge.
