The minutes of the previous meeting were read aud coutiraied. The Board theu weut into committee, aud, upou resuming, reported th-> f.iliurt'iug fippointtneuts : — iMie rosigu-Uiou of Agnes Alartiu, as pupil teadior at Paliaerstou, wad accepted. Resolved, That Leonard McDonald - "be ruade 4ih class pupil teacher at Stan way. It was resolved to forward the ap- . plication of Miss Moulc, of Mauutahi, for au assist Aufcship at Ten ace Eud, to - the Committee. Paiuieratoa— Mr W. H. Warren, Secretary uf School Commissioners, - wrote stating that section' 90, Pal inerstou North, would be reserved for .the iSchool Oi>!umiLt«e. - ' Waituna— The Wiituna Committee •wrote requesting assistance in builu ing ami dosks for the uew aided -School. — Resolved, That the Board could not assist with buildiug, but c would help iv the matter ot desks aud ■ a little furniture. '/"■ Kairanga — With reference to the i water supply for Kairauga School, it { was* resolved, That the Committee be (authorised to sell the existing tank , and 1 apply the proceeds toward tho - "cost of obtaining artesian water. Oroua Bridge- — It' was decided that as the Board had no title to the laud at Oroua'Bridge, they could not build ■a residence. ' Stoney Creek— With regard to the application for addition to the ac•coinuiodation at Stoney Creek, it was" "resolved that the Board could not '"entertain the request. ' ; Feilding— Kesolved to have new ' roof put to Boy's School at Feilding aud the matter was referred to Mr .Fry. - ', Makino Road — Mr Fry reported on the Makino Road School repairs, and -lihe account was passed for payment. \Feilding— Mr Fry reported on the ■'repairs' done at Feildiug, the account f6r,Vhichlwas passed. Terrace End.— On the inotiou of Mr' Hurley, seconded by Mr Bridge, ,'it was,. resolved that the attention of ;"'the Terrace End Committee be r ' ( clirected to the poor average at"'tendance during tho December c ;guar'ter, and that the Committee be -requested to take steps to endeavour Hb improve the same, Palmerstou.— With reference to a "teacher for Paluierstooj it was decided to refer the matter to the Executive. r-lt f lwas resolved that Miss Monk's ic-name'be forwarded to the Committee ".with others. It was also decided that all names not selected should be forwarded to Patea, if necessary. Beturns.— The Board went into ' Committee tooousider certain quarterly -returns, aud upon resuming reported. Election of Member. — The Secretary '\vas instructed to take the necessary steps to obtain nominations for the' election of one-third of the Board members. Auditing — It was resolved that the ■ ' Committees be requested to nominate auditors, and that the Secretary audit -the accounts of all schools where -^auditors are not appointed. ? "Boundaries. — Resolved that the 'name' of Mr Hurley be added to the •-Committee appointed to inspect the --bouruia-'ies. '- :The Board then ail journ9d.
