Several samples of the new season's oats are to hand, and values at port of shipment vary from Is 5d to Is 6Jd per bushel; which would be equal to Is 9d to Is 10£ d in this market : old descriptions command Is lOd to 2s ; oatmeal, £9 10s to £9 15s ; oaten sheaf' chaffy £3_los to £3. 155: straw ilo, £2 12a'6d'to-£2 15s; roller fl.se, £10 15s; stone do, £9 10s to £10 ; good whole fowls' wheat, 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; broken do, 3s 4d ; bran, 60s ; pollard, 709 wheatmeal, £10 ; feed barley, 2s 3d to 2s 6J- pearl barley, £16 ■ feed peas, blue 3s-9d; split peas, £15; beans, 3a 6d; onions, £9 to £9 10s ; round potatoes, £3 ; kidney do, £3 10s ; rye grass seed, machine dressed 5s to 5s 6d, farmers' parcels 4a 6d to ss ; cocksfoot, 3d to 4d per lb ; maize, 4s ; Woodville new cheese, 4£d ; hams, and bacon, 6£d; honey, 4£d ; lard, 4d ; fresh butter, 7d ; salt do, 6d ; eggs, in large supply, at 8d per doz. Poultry is no * g reat ly enquiiedfor — fowls, 2s 6d to 3a ; ducks, 3s 6d to 4s ; geese, ss; turkeys,' 7s 61 per pair. -The fruit market is almost bare of supplies and arrivals have been, exceedingly light. The Tekapo, from Sydney on Monday, should replenish stocks, and oranges, lemons, pears, plums, apricots, &c, will realise excellent prices.

Meat. — Market firm. Beef : Hindquarters, 4dj forequarters, 3£d per lb. Mutton : Canterbury, 4fcd ; Wellington, 3£d per lb. Canterbury mutton, 4Jd ; Wellington, 3sd. There is no Canterbury lamb in 4he market. New Zealand beef, hindquarters, 4£d. Auckland hemp, medium quality, averages £24 15s per ton ; Wellington, medium quality, £23. The market. is strong.. New "Zealand long-berried wheat firm at 37s 9d ; South Australian" and Victorian wheat also firm at 39s and ;38s 6d respectively.
