(per vnited press association.) Wellington, This Day. Another Cabinet meeting was held this morning but nothing was made known. The Premier still- declines to say anything. It is significant of events marching to a close that Ministers feel the absence of the Governor from the capital, and are not-back-ward in complaining of the inconvenience caused by it. The Government appear to be waiting for the assembly of their followers to-morrow afternoon and not till then will it be definitely, decided whether. Mr Holleston shall stand for the Speakership of the Lower House* and it is unlikely he will be proposed unless sufficient votes can be counted before-hand to secure his election,
To-day's Times says :— Sir. Harry Atkinson, we have reason to believe, will be appointed to the Speakership of the Council, For the Lower House Speakership Mr Eollestou's nomination is certain. The Government' will resign, and advise that Mr Ballahce shall be " sent for," and time given him to prepare his policy. The Hbn. Mr Bryce ia likely to become leader of the present Government party.
