Accidents and Fatalities
(PBR PBBBS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 12 Hewson Maxwell Bradgate, chemist, of Parnell and formerly of Coromandel, was found dead in his shop in the Manukau road this morning. The body of William Pnrker, a missing settler haß been found at Waikato Heads Brunkebton, January 12., A fatal accident occurred at the railway station after the 5 o'clock train was brought to a standstill. Mrs Robt. Smith got out with a child in her arms and one in her hand, leaving a third on the platform. The train again started with a sudden jerk, throwing the child head foremost on to the rail underneath, the wheels passing over the child's head crushing it to atoms, : Masterton, January 12. A three-year- old son of Mr Bell, of Tenui, while playing with another child, aged five, had four of his fingers accidentally cut off his left hand with a sharp axe on Saturday last. The child was brought to Mast', t'zon and is now doing well. Gkeymouth, January 12. William Euliie, a miner at New River, was found dead in bed this mornins.
