CunisTcuuncH, Jauuary 8. ] To-day, a middle-aged man, named Thouias. fchwidan, died at the Hospital while uuder chloroform for au •operation fur caucer of the- tongue. The post mortem examination showed " ihat death was caused by rupture of ;'an aneurism of the aorta. The in -quest was held this evening. The evidence showed that every possible care had beeo taken, and thfttuo oue -■was to blame. A verdict of " Accidental Ddatb." waa returned. This morning an inquest was held on the child named Emily Hall, eleven weeks' old whose parents reside in Queen street South. The verdict was natural causes. It was shown it had suffered almost during' its whole existence with diarrhoea, and convulsions, which the doctor considered would be aggravated, if not caused ■by> the filthy condition of the street, where washing water, home slops, -&c, were lying iv the chauiii-i. The -jury added a rider, censuring ilia City Council for this state of things. With this the Coroner concurred. Brunnebtox, January 9. Thos. Kennedy, belonging to Duuediu, met with a fatal accident at -Brunnor last night. He was engaged jigging trucks when the staple broke. The trucks running down the bank he was caught by them and killed.
