London, January 7. t The local trade af Coalhriuge, near Gla>gow, where there aro exteusive ironworks, is paralysed by the strike aud the factories have stopped work. Mr Burus asserts that the men are winning. At the instigation of John Burns 2000 Dundee dockers have gone on strike out of sympathy with the railway men. ' The trades and manufacturers suffar worse than the railway companies, as mauy of the works are stopped for want of coal. January 8. The Scotch, railways have lost £70,000 through the strike. - The Miners' Federation are holding a conference in Birmingham at which 150,000 men are represented. The delegates are collecting funds to assist the railway men ou strike. January 9. '-. The directors of the Scotch railway companies decliue to accept the B'r.ikeis' proposals for 10 hours per day, and demand an unconditional sui render of the men. The strikers are appealing to the trades lo support them in the struggle.
