The whole of the crew of the ship Kelton had smallpox, and during the voyage from Eio one of the men succumbed to the disease. January 1. The medical men who are attending the crew of the ship Kelton, state that the men are suffering from smallpox of a terrible malignant character. The captain is now convalescent, but the mate is in a critical state. The revenue for the half-year shows a j deficit of £216,000 compared with the similar period of 1889. A disastrous fire occurred at the Mutual Stores in Flinders street this morning, by which the premises were completely gutted. The damage to the stock is estimated at £80,000, and to the fiurniture £7000. Details are unknown, but 40 offices are concerned. Over 200 hands will be thrown out of employment. Syd.vey. January I. The revenue of New South Wales for the past year amounts to £9,497,000, being £434,000 in excess of the revenue for 1889, and £82,000 beyond the Colonial Treasurer's estimate. The Admiralty has decided to re-open the Egeria court martial, and several witnesses have been ordered Home. Sydney, This Day. A company is being floated in London to export frozen meat from the Northern District with Newcastle as port of shipment. Sailed — H.M S.
