Terrible Colliery Accident
(pee united press association. 1 Acckland. Decem er 23. At about half-past 10 o'clock last * night a terrible accident, which it is * believed will involve the loss of the ' lives of three men John Tracey, John 1 Casey, and James Smith, — and a lad j named Alexander Harris, occurred at I Ralph's coalmining property at Huntley, in the Waikato district, when a F new dip of the drive collapsed, en- ■ tombing the miners named, who were working there. A rescue party was r speedily formed, aud they had succeeded in almost reaching Harris and Casey when a second fall of earth occurred, by which one of the rescurers — Samuel Hyndman — was severely injured in the spine.
