Dummyism

■ At the last meeting of the Wellington ' Land Board several cases of alleged dummyism were enquired into, and after careful consideration the following resolution was adopted : — '' That in the opinion of the Board, what is known as ' dummyism' has b^en practised by Mr Coleman Phillips in connection with the selection of sections in Puketoi, and that it is desirable the whole case should be laid before the Crown Prosecutor with a view to ascertain whether there are sufficient grounds to warrant a prosecution under clauses 29 and 30 of the Lands Act, 1 888, and if so, that such prosecution be instituted," As this is really the first case which has been sufficiently clear to justify such a course, we will await the decision of the Crown Prosecutor with much anxiety.
