Mr Parneil and the Liberal Party.
I PER TOUTED PRESS ASSOCIATION. I London, December 17. Mr Parneil addressed a meeting to-day with his face bandaged up. Inflaumta*' tion is feared from the result of lime which was thrown into his eyes. Tne> crowd threatened vengeance on Mr McCarthy, who was hustled by tne- mob on bis arrival at Kilkenny. December 19. Over 70 members of Parliament are at present at Kilkenny awaiting the* election. Mr Parnell's eyesight is in danger. The inflammation has extended to both eyes, but he persists in speaking at the surrounding villages despite tbe warnings of the dotora. It is> alleged by his opponents that the amount of injury is purposely exaggerated. Mr Justin McCarthy on his arrival received an ovation from both men and women. Some exciting scenes have taken place in the Kilkenny Municipal Council. The minority retired in dudgeon, and tbe majority then voted confidence in Mr Parneil. The Clan-na-Gael supports him.
